About the project

The Social Systems project is a collective name for the IT support that the City of Stockholm uses for documentation within social services, elderly care, and municipal healthcare. Social Systems includes both in-house developed systems and customized standard products, integrations, and e-services.

With approximately 25,000 users, Social Systems is one of the city's largest projects. Social Systems is currently used by employees and managers from 13 different committees as well as external providers of welfare services working on behalf of the city.

The project has a developed target architecture and a lifecycle plan that describes how the components of the project need to be modernized and changed to meet new needs. The project has several ongoing development projects, both regarding new user-friendly solutions and new IT architecture. The goal is stable, accessible, user-friendly, and secure system support that simplifies the work of the operations. Ultimately, it is expected to benefit those we exist for – the people of Stockholm.

This role is part of the project's IT-related management, which the City Executive Office is responsible for. The IT-related management and development work is carried out by the city's contracted operational supplier, by employed specialists, and if necessary, by external consulting support. The Social Administration and the Elderly Administration are responsible for the project's operational management.
